Car won’t start makes clicking noise ?

First thing you should do is check for corrosion build up on your terminals. If the battery terminal corrosion occurs then it could make the cable less connected and less powerful currents will cause even disconnected. If they have a lot of greenish white looking ash on them you can clean them with a wire brush and a baking soda-water solution. NOT any cola products all that will do is give a breeding ground for mor acidic oxidation.

If there is no corrosion or battery terminals are clean and tidy condition. then, the most likely thing is a dead battery. That is not the end of it though. There has to be a reason why it died. The two top causes for a dead battery is either a bad alternator, or low electrolytes in your battery cells.

To figure out which one it is, is easy. Get a jump and after your car is running remove your negative battery terminal, if the car dies it is your alternator.

If not you should remove the caps on the top side of your battery, if you can't see any liquid or the liquid level is lower than a half an inch then pour water in them till they are full. Chances are that if they are that low and the battery is dead, you have a dead cell.

If the battery is still not holding a charge you need to take it to your local auto part store and have them test it. They will do this for free. Their machine is the only free way to be sure if its a dead cell or not.
